SHEET01

A typical wet-room conversion, drawn out.

This is how we think about every bathroom: the space a wheelchair needs to turn, a floor with no step, rails exactly where hands reach for them. Each numbered point on the plan is explained alongside.

Floor plan of a level-access wet room conversion A bathroom 3400 by 2600 millimetres. A 900 millimetre clear doorway with a level threshold opens outward at the bottom left. A dashed 1500 millimetre turning circle sits in the centre of the floor. On the right, a level shower area with the floor falling to a linear drain, a fold-down seat and a vertical grab rail. A WC with a drop-down support rail is at bottom right; a basin with lever taps is at top left beneath the window. 3400 2600 900 clear Ø1500
DWG RS-WR-01 · Wet room, ground floor Scale NTS · Dims in mm · Sample drawing
  1. Turning circle

A clear 1500mm floor space so a wheelchair can turn fully without shuffling. Ø1500 clear

  2. Wider door, level threshold

Opening widened to 900mm clear, door hung to open outward, no lip at the floor. 900 clear · 0mm step

  3. Grab rails, positioned on site

Heights agreed with the OT and the person using them — not a catalogue default.

  4. Floor falls to a linear drain

A gentle fall across the whole shower area keeps water where it belongs, with slip-resistant flooring throughout.

  5. Fold-down shower seat

Fixed to a strengthened wall, folds flat when not needed.

  6. WC with drop-down rail

Raised pan, rail on the transfer side, space alongside for a carer to help.

  7. Basin at a usable height

Lever taps, knee space beneath, set to a height that suits sitting or standing.
